Ok This is so Cliche but well it has to be said !
The show on Sunday 13th of Sept at Take5 was one of the most awesome shows ever !!!
Now Take5 is a cute little restobar on 100 ft road in Indiaranagar and is basically a Jazz place and they serve some excellent imported beers and some yummm food, well thats not why we were there ….
8.30 pm on that drizzly sunday evening we started belting out some classics and from the minute we started all the way upto 11pm, the energy of the band and the audience was something those who didnt turn up really missed, I mean its not everyday you sell out a place (although we mostly do ), 160 people inside a place of a standard 120 ? Now you know what we are taking about….
As sceptical we were about playing Classic Rock in a place which is Primarily known for Jazz, all our fears were laid to rest the minute we started and the crowd started singing along,
With fab vocal deliveries and witty punch lines between songs from Nikhil and one of the most powerful Diva voices of Bangalore, Priyanka ruled the stage till 11 pm….
Sadly we had to stop playing the instruments at 11 pm due to shutdown while Nikhil and Priyanka still were on stage singing solo with the audience joining them…..
Now thats what we call a perfect ending to a perfect gig at a perfect location….

PS - Did i mention we stopped halfway thru a song for the first time in the band history ever cos one of us went blank and redid the song again?? Well who says rockstars arent humans ?? If Bon jovi could do, that so could we…HAHAHA

The documentary shoot was so much fun !
YeStErDaY was an awesome day , we began the shoot after moving stuff around in my house by around 11 am, started off with the sound bytes and my interview and bytes took almost 30 mins :D , thats waaaaayyyyy too little considering how much i still wanted to talk :D, was funny as i was trying to throw in some kannada words in between,and my damn american accent kept coming in the way ! next came our buddy Nikhil, followed by his highness Ajit who almost spoke like the President of “you yes ae” giving the citizens a warning about the D Day arriving in the next coupla hours….Then was Joplin who sat amidst the soft toys and did her bit followed by the awesome couple Neeraj and Jongky ….That wound up the sound byte section and boy were we hungry !
4 large domino pizzas later and 10 cans of coke, not just down the throats, but also on my CARPET (Arghhhhh) we shot the videos of the band playing, No heroes, Take me away and Hurt…
By then it was already 4′ish and we were dead tired, then came the still photoshoot, cos a new Website is being designed by the famous Mr Ajit, lets see how it comes along…..
So thats the update for now, No gigs finalized yet for sept although something tells me we will play somewhere

So sunday it is !
Well this sunday is going to be great, for real we are shooting a 30 minute documentary of the band, The whole format has been discussed and the layout and structure of the program sound pretty darn exciting.
On the gig side, talks are on with a few venues for gigs in sept, we had to pass on 3 gigs in august due to work schedules (and later realized we could have played one of them arghhhhhhhhh )
So stay tuned for more news on the airing of the documentary and the next gigs

Sonic Flare Documentary !
A popular TV channel is recording a 30 minute documentary on the band, this will be shot on the 22nd and 23rd of August at a location yet to be decided….

Great show at Tavern on the 6th of August !
Well, despite the rains the show at Tavern went really well, we started at 9 pm and almost played non stop till quarter to midnight with a small 5 minute break in between, The highlight of the show was the “Police” dedication setlist we played …..
Thanks for all who came there and supported the band….Unfortunately we did not record the gig, neither did we take pictures…
Next gig around 20th of Sept in the talks and 7th of Oct….Have a dedication stelist for another band :-)

Our very own Priyanka Goswami rocked with buddies Chris Avinash , Saggy ,Tiny, Ryan (Retronome) at Kyra on Sunday the 2nd of August….Was one hell of an awesome show with super responses on her performances….

One hell of an awesome show at Purva Riviera
Firstly a gig which was to happen on the 18th of July got postponed to August 1st…The venue, Purva Rivera a huge and sprawling apartment complex on Marathalli main road with over 800 apartments…
Finally on the 1st , well what do i say , as much as we had our reserved thoughts on the kind of crowd we would expect, they turned out to be such a nice rowdy bunch and freaked out on every one of the 30 odd songs we belted out that night, It was a pleasant surprise to find 10 year old coming back over while i was playing and asking for requests such as Green Day and Linkin park…….Incredible, I must say although the rain gods delayed the event by over an hour and we took a huge chance by playing out in the open (although top covered), Im sure the 400 odd people who were there prayed too so it doesnt rain again and did not regret the wait….from 8.30 to 11 pm, there was absolute screaming, dancing, singing to each of the songs that were played….
A huge thanks to Neeraj Khanna and Anita of Purva apartments for putting this together for us and making the evening a wonderful and memorable one….
With each of our bodies hurting with all that belting, I’m just hoping we survive the gig on Thursday at the Tavern !

Private gig in July
Sonic Flare will be performing live on the 18th of July at a private gig in one of Bangalore biggest Apartment complexes in the city, A nice 2-3 hour show in beautiful amphitheater setting provided the rain doesnt play spoil sport…
Unfortunately cannnot reveal more details until the show is over…However, August seems to be a promising month with 2 pub gigs….Stay tuned
